Tim DeBoer Class of 2013: Leading a Legacy in Waste Management
Tim DeBoer

At Carrollwood Day School, we are proud to recognize the accomplishments of our alumni who continue to make a meaningful impact in their industry and community. Today, we spotlight Tim DeBoer, Class of 2013, a dedicated entrepreneur and 5th-generation waste management professional.

Tim graduated from Carrollwood Day School in 2013 before pursuing a degree in economics at Rollins College. His time at CDS helped shape his path, equipping him with skills and values that have become integral to his success today.

"I only have positive memories of my time at CDS," Tim shares. "The IB program truly prepared me for college. The IB traits, especially critical thinking and perseverance, spoke to me and translate directly to entrepreneurship."

In January 2022, Tim co-founded DeBoer Brothers Disposal, a Tampa Bay-based roll-off dumpster business, providing essential services to the construction industry. Under Tim's leadership, the company has grown significantly, recently adding a sixth waste truck to their fleet. As a 5th-generation "garbage man," Tim carries on a family legacy that began with his great-great-grandfather, who started a waste company in Chicago using a horse-drawn cart after emigrating from Holland.

Tim’s connection to the waste management industry runs deep, and his dedication to providing excellent customer service has helped the company become a trusted name in Tampa Bay's construction sector.

When asked about the most positive aspects of his time at Carrollwood Day School, Tim highlights the strong sense of community and how well the school prepared him for his future.

"CDS gave me the foundation I needed to succeed in college and beyond," he explains. In addition to excelling academically, Tim also nurtured a creative side, playing the bassoon throughout high school—a passion he fondly remembers.

Tim’s journey from CDS to entrepreneurship is a testament to the power of hard work, strong community values, and the drive to uphold a family tradition. We look forward to seeing how DeBoer Brothers Disposal continues to grow and thrive under his leadership.
