Carrollwood Day School proudly hosted its annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration on October 9, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and parents for a morning dedicated to honoring the rich traditions and cultural contributions of the Hispanic culture.

With many Hispanic students, families, and staff as part of the Carrollwood Day School community, the celebration becomes more than an event. It’s an opportunity for the entire school to deepen their understanding, honor the experiences of those around them, and celebrate the rich cultures that shape life at CDS.

As part of the CDS’s International Street Festival Series, which highlights cultures from across the world throughout the school year, the event transformed the Elementary School's Character Courtyard into a vibrant showcase of Hispanic culture and heritage. Tables representing countries across South and Central America offered students the opportunity to explore regional foods, artifacts, and traditions. A live mariachi band provided the soundtrack to the morning, while candy, prizes, hands-on activities, and student interaction added an element of excitement and engagement for all ages.

The celebration was organized under the leadership of Sam Glover, Director of Global Programs, and brought together campus clubs, faculty, students, and their families to make the event a success. Their collective effort reflected Carrollwood Day School’s ongoing commitment to fostering global awareness and cultural appreciation within the school community.

The Hispanic Heritage Festival served as both a joyful celebration and a meaningful reminder of the diverse cultures that shape, enrich , and better our world, values that remain at the heart of the CDS mission.
