Academics at the ECC
At the Early Childhood Campus (ECC) at Carrollwood Day School, we nurture young learners from Toddlers through Kindergarten, laying the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Starting with our toddlers, students engage with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), which integrates core subject areas and fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a global perspective.
Through developmentally appropriate practices, the ECC provides a warm and engaging environment where children develop essential skills such as executive functioning, self-discipline, and effective communication. Our program encourages exploration, collaboration, and a positive sense of self and others while fostering an enthusiasm for discovery and knowledge.
Key programs like High Scope, Conscious Discipline, and Responsive Classroom, alongside specialized classes in music, Spanish, technology, library, and physical education, ensure a balanced and enriching experience. With this strong foundation, CDS students take their first steps toward becoming independent, self-confident learners and global citizens.
