Carrollwood Day School began as a preschool with a group of small children who asked big questions. Since 1982, that has not changed. Our early childhood program is still about asking big questions and nurturing a small child's curiosity and confidence. CDS Lower School focuses on the whole child. Kindergarten is a pivotal year for children. Students are able to take their preschool learning experiences and, under the guidance of skillful teachers, begin to create the formal foundation for success in school and in life. Through the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) students develop skills vital to becoming not only skillful and knowledgeable, but also self-directed, self-motivated and self-confident. We seek to develop caring and well-prepared citizens of tomorrow's world.
Carrollwood Day School began as a preschool with a group of small children who asked big questions. In 40 years, that has not changed. Our early childhood program is still about asking big questions and nurturing a small child's curiosity and confidence.
The Early Childhood program services Toddlers through Kindergarten.
The Primary Years Programme at Carrollwood Day School focuses on the idea that students’ learning is based on experiences and prior knowledge. Therefore, structured inquiry is the most common method used in the classroom.
The Elementary program services grades 1 - 5.
