Aidan Gonzalez, Class of 2021, Becomes the First Student Teacher in CDS History
CDS Alumni Spotlight: Aidan – First Student Teacher at CDS

Aidan Gonzalez, a proud member of the Class of 2021, is breaking new ground at Carrollwood Day School as our first-ever student teacher. Join us as she shares the inspiring academic journey that is shaping her path to success.

Aidan joined the CDS family her freshman year, and she quickly became a beloved member of our school community. Even when faced with the unique challenges of her senior year, shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, Aidan demonstrated resilience, forging lifelong friendships and laying a strong foundation for her future.

After graduating from CDS, Aidan set her sights on a degree in Elementary Education at the University of Central Florida. Now, as she prepares to graduate with honors in December 2024, Aidan’s impressive 3.9 GPA speaks volumes about her dedication and hard work.

Reflecting on her time at CDS, Aidan states, "CDS gave me the right advancements to be prepared at UCF to graduate with honors."

Currently, Aidan is back at CDS, student teaching in Mrs. Lana Vargo’s 4th-grade class. This experience has allowed her to come full circle, giving back to the community that helped shape her into the educator she is becoming.

Mrs. Vargo shares with us, "I am so excited to have Aidan as a student teacher in my class! She has been helping build classroom community and learning how to set up procedures and routines. Aidan has been working in small groups and one on one with her students. She just did her first solo lesson with the class on Visualizing. She planned a great lesson with a lot of student engagement!"

Aidan's transformation from a committed CDS student to an inspiring educator reflects the very essence of the values we strive to instill in all our students. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing her continue to inspire and shape the minds of the next generation.
