April 12 COVID-19 Update Dear Patriot Nation, I am grateful that throughout much of this school year we have been able to safely resume most of our normal school activities and traditions. Unfortunately, I am writing this morning because we have seen a significant increase in the number of COVID cases in our community. Overnight we were notified about nine positive diagnoses in athletics/PE and all divisions. The Hayes Family Gymnasium and Gym Annex underwent a deep cleaning last night. At this time, we are not making changes to our policies, but I would like to encourage everyone to remain vigilant to keep your family and our community healthy. A few reminders as we move beyond the second anniversary of this pandemic and approach the end of this school year: - Face masks remain optional; however, the school administration does strongly recommend the wearing of properly fitting face masks for all individuals during periods of high community transmission (faculty/staff, students, and visitors).
- Our strongest emphasis is on staying home when sick. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. Follow the CDS Sick Day Policy
- If your child or someone in your household has COVID symptoms, please test as soon as possible to prevent avoidable exposures on campus. If anyone in your household has COVID, follow the school guidelines for isolation and quarantine.
- If your child has a COVID-related absence *, please use the COVID Reporting Form to notify school. (* Your child has COVID or lives with someone who has COVID)
- According to health agencies and experts, vaccination is the best way to be protected from severe COVID. We encourage all eligible members of the community to become fully vaccinated and boosted, if eligible.
I am confident in our ability to finish as strongly as we started this school year, supporting each other and the school we all believe in as we sprint towards the finish line of the 2021-2022 school year. |
