CPR/AED/First Aid Training
Friday, February 18
8:00 am - 12:00 pm
All 10th graders will have the option to participate in an American Red Cross certified CPR/AED/First Aid course at CDS on Friday, February 18th, from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In the past, this was woven into the 9th grade PE curriculum; however, due to Covid restrictions students in the Class of 2024 were not offered the option during their 9th grade school year.
There is no cost to students for this training, however, there is an optional $32 fee for students who want to receive a card of certification. Please register for the FREE course and pay for the optional certification card by clicking the link below. Registration and payment are due by February 15th.
While we hope that our students will never have to use the first aid skills they will be taught, it is good to know that they will be trained in case of an emergency.
CDS is able to offer this course thanks to an alumni family's generous donation. Harrison Kowiak was nineteen-years-old when he died as a result of a tragic incident that could have been prevented. He was on a full scholarship at university at the time and no one present knew CPR or thought to call 911. We thank the Kowiak family for their lasting legacy to student safety at CDS.
