Face Mask Policy Update
Dear Patriot Nation, In response to a sustained and significant decrease in Covid cases in our county, we will be revising our mask policy on campus, effective October 18, 2021. Please review the guidelines below and contact your division head if you have any questions. To honor our commitment to acting with good character and care for all members of our CDS and local community, please put the health and safety of our children, faculty, staff, and families in the forefront of your mind, even as restrictions loosen. Report all close contacts or cases of Covid to the school and keep your child at home if they are sick. Vaccination is endorsed by the vast majority of health professionals and health agencies as the quickest way to get back to full normalcy, and we encourage anyone eligible in our community to get vaccinated as soon as possible. I know this news will be greeted with celebration by some and anxiety by others. Some will want us to go farther and some will think we have gone too far. Although all actions are imperfect in imperfect times, my team and I are trying to respect parental concerns and community norms while protecting the health and safety of our various constituencies. I assure you we will continue to closely monitor conditions in our community and on campus and adjust our protocols as merited and necessary. I thank you, as always, for your support and trust as we continue to navigate these uncertain times together. Sincerely, Sara Rubinstein Head of School
