Speech & Debate News

Three members of the CDS speech and debate team capture honors.

The CDS Speech & Debate team is off to a great start to their season. They participated in a local tournament on Saturday at Sickles High School. Carter C. ('23) finished in first place and Vikram B. ('23) finished second in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Jada C. ('25) finished second in Declamation speech. CDS was also represented by Jago S. ('25), Rohan P. ('25), and David L. ('25).

Participation in Speech & Debate is highly regarded by colleges as one of the best activities for applicants to have on their resume. Debate builds vital skills in critical thinking, communication, research, and writing; skills that will also help students succeed in future careers, whether the field they enter is business, medicine, engineering, academia, or government.

Students interested in joining the Speech & Debate team should see Mr. Jannereth. The team's next tournament is December 4th at King High School.
