Carrollwood Day School students receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Gold Medal on the steps of the Capitol!
See Us Now is a student-led organization advocating for safe, consistent housing for Foster Children. Last week, the group returned to Washington DC to meet with Senators and Congressmen to lobby for a bi-partisan bill to increase funding for the foster care system. The group has met with more than 20 lawmakers, including representatives from the Speaker of the House of Representatives. They have also hosted awareness campaigns and volunteered at adoption celebration events throughout our area. They completed more than 150 hours of service to receive this award. The award was started by President George HW Bush.

Thank you to CDS Parent and See Us Now sponsor, Kari Wagner, for facilitating this trip and helping the students have their voices heard.
