The CDS admissions team journeyed west last week to the annual Enrollment Management Association conference. This year’s EMA conference, held in Las Vegas, welcomed more than 1,500 admissions professionals from throughout the United States and 10 countries. Over the course of three days, the CDS admission crew of Dawn Schweitzer, Michelle Caceres, Charlotte Benziger, Vianca Danner, and Jes Nugent networked and attended workshops and keynote addresses, with topics ranging from conducting assessments in a post-Covid world, to using AI and ChatGPT in the admissions process.

The highlight for the team was presenting their own workshop to a standing-room-only crowd on the final day of the conference. Entitled “From Big Box to Boutique,” the team showcased the unique small-scale admissions events they pioneered three years ago and the tremendous recruitment and retention outcomes the school has realized since making the admissions process more intimate and personal. The admissions team also made an impression in their matching gingham and was asked to pose with several attendees!
