Tiny Trailblazers: Elementary Students Attend the Junior Round Square Adventure Conference in England
Elementary Students in England

This June a group of elementary students had the privilege of attending the Junior Round Square Adventure Conference in Northumberland, UK. The group of students, accompanied by Executive Assistant to the Head of School Julie Johnson and Head of Lower School Dawn Wilson, began their adventure by exploring London by foot, bus, tube, and train. They immersed themselves in the culture of the bustling city and discovered the tranquil beauty of the countryside.

The group visited iconic sights like Buckingham Palace and Stonehenge, dove into centuries of European heritage at the Natural History Museum, admired the awe-inspiring architecture of the city and surrounding castles, tasted culturally diverse cuisine, and even enjoyed an evening at the Apollo Theater.

The students rounded off their week at the conference, themed “Finding Friends and Facing Fears.”  Along with nearly 100 students from eight countries, they learned how to apply the principles of global citizenship by creating friends with diverse backgrounds, and practiced excellence in character while facing their fears of heights, darkness, water, navigation and fire!
