National School Counseling Week is celebrated annually in the United States during the first full week of February to acknowledge the vital role school counselors play in helping students achieve success. The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) established this week-long event to focus public attention on the unique contribution of professional school counselors within U.S. school systems and to highlight the tremendous impact these individuals have on the future of America's children and youth.
At CDS, our school counselors provide a wide range of services to students, including individual and group counseling. They also serve as advocates for the students they serve and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community organizations to support student success. Additionally, they help students manage social and emotional issues, including bullying, substance abuse, and depression. From Mrs. Molano's lunch bunch for new students to Mrs. Tullis' kindness activities, and Mr. Miller's Duke of Edinburgh's Adventurous Journeys with our students, counseling at CDS is an immersive experience.
Today, and every day, we recognize and celebrate our team for their contributions to student success. They play a crucial role at CDS and provide a safe space for our students to go. They are a vital part of the educational system, helping to shape the future of our children and our community.
At CDS, National School Counseling Week serves as a reminder of these tireless members of our community It is a time to recognize their contributions and show appreciation for the support they provide to students and the educational community. Thank you to our amazing counselors.
