The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) recently unveiled the names of more than 16,000 Semifinalists from across the country, placing these students in the top one percent of U.S. high school seniors. As Semifinalists, these outstanding students now have the chance to advance in the competition for nearly 6,870 National Merit Scholarships, with a total value of around $26 million. The winners will be announced in the spring of 2025.

Established in 1955, the National Merit Scholarship Program is a highly respected competition operated by the NMSC, a not-for-profit organization that operates independently of government funding. The program is supported by NMSC’s own resources and contributions from over 280 business organizations, colleges, universities, and individual donors, all of whom share a commitment to fostering academic excellence and encouraging students to reach their full potential.

At Carrollwood Day School, we are immensely proud of our students’ remarkable accomplishments. Their achievements not only reflect their individual dedication and hard work but also underscore the school’s mission to cultivate a culture of intellectual curiosity, academic rigor, and personal growth.

We congratulate these talented seniors on their well-deserved recognition and look forward to seeing their continued success as they pursue their academic and professional dreams. Stay tuned as they continue their journey towards National Merit Scholarships and beyond!
