Congratulations to student-artist, Angelina B. ('22) for being awarded 1st place in Water Media for her piece, The Kintsugi Cracks in the Annual 14th Congressional District and Next Generation High School Art Competition at the Tampa Museum of Art. Angelina's entry along with other select pieces created by high school students from across Hillsborough County will be on display at the Tampa Museum of Art through April 10. Congratulations also go to CDS long-time upper school art and photography teacher, Seth Firestone who was the only instructor to receive recognition for Water Media Art Teacher.
This year, 71 entries were submitted into the competition from 21 high schools from throughout Hillsborough County, 37 of which were chosen to be displayed in the Tampa Museum of Art. The panel of judges is made up of local artists and experts from the Tampa Museum of Art, the Arts Council of Hillsborough County and more. This annual competition is presented in partnership with the Office of U.S. Representative, Kathy Castor.
