Carrollwood Day School is thrilled to share an exciting update about one of our notable alumna, Kayla Diaz, from the Class of 2014. After graduating from CDS, Kayla pursued a degree in Communications at Florida International University, setting the stage for a quickly growing career in the music industry.
From a young age, Kayla aspired to work in the music industry. She gained valuable experience through various roles in both music and television, all of which prepared her for her next big career move. In 2019, Kayla decided to join Interscope Records' new office in Miami, Florida. Starting as an assistant in a WeWork space with just four employees, she quickly established herself as a natural marketing professional. Her consistent progress led to her current role as Marketing Manager, where she has been instrumental in the rapid growth and development of the Interscope brand. Thanks to Kayla's enthusiasm and innate marketing skills, Interscope Records now boasts an impressive roster of iconic artists, including 2Pac, Eminem, Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, Guns N' Roses, and Gwen Stefani.
Despite her busy career, Kayla remains deeply connected to Carrollwood Day School. She has joined The CDS Alumni Council and eagerly looks forward to connecting with our alumni through reunions, school events, and social media.
Her enduring friendships with classmates underscore the strong bonds formed during her time at CDS. “I honestly loved CDS,” Kayla states, as she reflects warmly on her four years at the school. She praises the school's quality, rigorous academics, and emphasis on character building, calling her decision to attend CDS the “best decision ever!” Kayla fondly recalls her experiences, particularly her role as a senior buddy, where mentoring a first grader made a profound and lasting impact on her life.
