CDS 9th grader, Sarah N. is set to "Shatter Your Expectations!"

Three upper school students represented the CDS HOSA chapter at the Florida State Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL this past week. Bhuvi R. ('24) and her brother, Tejas R. ('23), both 1st place winners at the Region 4 competition, competed in the Clinical Specialty category and Job Seeking Skills category at the SLC.

Special congratulations go to Sarah N. ('25) who placed 2nd in the State Leadership Conference in the Healthy Lifestyles category. There were two rounds for Sarah's event; a written test and a presentation in front of a panel of judges. As a competitor in the Healthy Lifestyles category, Sarah had to focus on one personal healthy lifestyle goal and document her efforts in a personalized portfolio. This event aims to inspire members to learn more about health literacy topics and to develop healthy habits for a lifetime.

Sarah's second place win qualifies her to compete at the Annual HOSA International Leadership Conference which will be held in Nashville, TN at the end of June. The theme for this year's ILC is "Shatter Your Expectations" and we are sure Sarah will do just that!

Thank you to CDS upper school science teacher and HOSA club faculty advisor, Kiran Vaswani-Sippy for encouraging and leading these students towards their goals in the medical field.
