When Sam Sansone, Class of 2017, reflects on his time at Carrollwood Day School, he does so with fondness and gratitude. For Sam, CDS was more than just a school, it was a place that encouraged individuality, fostered meaningful relationships, and instilled strong character values.
“CDS helped me build a strong head on my shoulders,” Sam shares, crediting the school’s nurturing environment and focus on character development for preparing him to thrive in college, in his career, and as an entrepreneur.
One of Sam’s most cherished memories at CDS was Spirit Week. He specifically recalls enjoying the competitive boys’ volleyball matches. “I loved playing against the other grades and, honestly... winning,” he jokingly shared. Those victories during his junior and senior years remain vivid highlights of his time at CDS.
After graduating, Sam pursued a degree in Business Administration at the University of Central Florida, where he joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity and discovered his passion for golf. While on the course with his fraternity brothers, he realized something was missing: a golf club head cover that proudly showcased his fraternity insignias. No matter where he looked, Sam couldn’t find one that matched what he envisioned.
Then, Sam began having recurring dreams of starting his own business. In April 2022, alongside his high school friends and fellow CDS alumni Stephen Walters ’17 and Alex Wobst ’17, Sam co-founded Greek Golf Company. Born from their shared love of golf and fraternity life, their company focuses on creating unique fraternity-branded golf club head covers. The trio invested their time, energy, and resources into building the brand, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Greek Golf Company has since expanded its product line to include fraternity-branded hats, offering a fresh new style that blends tradition with creativity. Today, the business continues to grow, bringing fraternity pride to golf courses across the country.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Sam thrives as a Senior Sales Development Representative at Placer.ai, where he consistently meets and exceeds ambitious sales goals. Whether advancing his sales career or leading innovation in his business, Sam personifies the “education with character” ethos he developed at CDS.
From the close-knit community of his school days at CDS, to the bold ventures of his professional life, Sam Sansone’s story is a testament to vision, determination, and the power of community.
