About the CDS Excellence Award Program

The Carrollwood Day School Excellence Award for Faculty & Staff is an annual recognition program designed to celebrate the remarkable dedication and contributions of individuals within our school community. This award honors one member of the teaching faculty and one staff member who exemplify outstanding qualities in culture, skills, mindset, and professionalism, significantly contributing to the school’s mission and values.

Criteria for Nomination

Nominees for the CDS Excellence Award are evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Commitment to the CDS Vision: Demonstrating a deep commitment to the school’s vision of academic excellence with purpose, meaningful innovation, and nurturing each student in a supportive environment.
• Demonstration of Innovative Practice: Showcasing creative teaching methodologies or administrative strategies that enhance the experience for students, families, and colleagues.
• Contribution to CDS Community & Culture: Providing mentorship, guidance, and support that contribute to a positive school culture and the holistic growth of students.
• Development of Leadership & Collaboration: Exhibiting leadership qualities that foster collaboration among colleagues and advance the school’s goals.

Selection Process

Nominations for the CDS Excellence Award are accepted from all members of the faculty and staff. Nominees are reviewed by their administrative teams, and awardees are chosen based on the strength of their contributions to the CDS community. The recipients are publicly recognized, presented with a certificate of achievement, and honored with a $2500 monetary award as a symbol of appreciation for their outstanding dedication and service.
