Carrollwood Day School students recently showcased their academic prowess and creativity at the Hillsborough County History Fair, held at Hillsborough Community College, Dale Mabry Campus. The event brought together students from fifteen schools, who competed in five categories: essay, documentary, website, exhibit board, and performance.
The day was filled with impressive presentations and projects, with a full theater of students, teachers, and parents coming together to honor the hard work and dedication of all participants. Judges faced the difficult task of selecting winners from among the outstanding projects on display.
Among the award recipients were:
Middle School
- Lilly J. received the Judges Award for her exhibit on the Salem Witch Trials: The Aftermath of Injustice.
- Tilly M. secured First Place in the essay category with her piece titled "A Story Illuminated."
- Owen P., Landon C., and Brandon E. earned Second Place in the group documentary category for their project titled "How the Manhattan Project Changed the World."
Upper School
- Ella M. and Reese E. took Second Place in the performance category for their presentation on The Seneca Falls Convention.
- Kaiya B. and Caroline C. also secured Second Place in the group exhibit category for their project on Lucretia Mott.
- Morgan E.'s website on The Russo-Japanese War earned Second Place in its category.
