At Carrollwood Day School, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and global competitiveness are integral to our mission of preparing students for a dynamic future. Our Upper School students excelled brilliantly during the recent Bebras Challenge, an international competition that tests millions of students from over 30 countries on their computational thinking skills through complex, real-world scenarios.
The Bebras Challenge isn’t just a competition; it’s an opportunity for students to apply problem solving skills across disciplines, preparing them for success in an increasingly digital and interconnected world. From logic puzzles to algorithmic thinking, participants engage in tasks that mirror the skills sought after in the fields of technology, engineering, and data science.
Our students rose to the challenge, with three achieving truly outstanding results on this global platform. Alyssa C. '27, who tested in the junior division (ages 14-16), delivered an extraordinary performance, coming remarkably close to ranking in the top 0.5% worldwide! Joining her in showcasing excellence were Logan F. ‘25 and Jago S. ‘25, who tested in the senior division (ages 16-18), both placing in the top 1% globally and demonstrating their exceptional ability to tackle intricate problems with precision and creativity. Alyssa and Logan both scored above the 99th percentile, further solidifying the remarkable academic talents of our students in the Bebras Challenge.
All of our Upper School students that tackled the competition’s most challenging tasks represented CDS with pride and determination. These results highlight the strength of our academic programs and the dedication of both our students and educators to fostering excellence. Congratulations to all of our participants for their remarkable achievements. Together, you’ve shown that CDS Patriots are ready to take on any challenge and lead with purpose!
