As the excitement builds for the upcoming Summer Olympics, one young athlete from Carrollwood Day School is already making waves in the world of flag football, aiming for a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games.
Carys McCreath is a rising freshman at Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, Florida. Her journey to potential Olympic glory began with her role as Team Captain of the School’s Flag Football Team, where she has shown exceptional leadership and skill. Carys took a significant leap forward when participating in the USA Individual Combine, hosted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and USA Flag Football.
Out of thousands of participants nationwide, Carys's standout performance caught the attention of athletic talent scouts and personnel, and she was selected to compete this summer in the 2024 USA Football Select Bowl in Los Angeles, California. This intensive four-day event showcased the talent and hard work, where Carys and her team competed against some of the top rising stars of the flag football world. Their hard work paid off as they earned the gold medal and a coveted spot in the Official USA Team Trials, scheduled to take place in North Carolina in 2025.
Reflecting on her journey so far, Carys acknowledges the crucial support and guidance she has received from her family, Coach Tianna, her team, and the entire Carrollwood Day School community. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in helping Carys pursue her dream of representing her country on the Olympic stage.
