Carrollwood Day School Students Perform at Carnegie Hall

Nitya and Parth

At Carrollwood Day School, we take pride in celebrating our students' achievements both inside the classroom and beyond. When our students’ passions transform into extraordinary success, we share in their joy. The Madabhushi siblings, Senior Nitya '25 and Alumni Parth '21, are no strangers to remarkable accomplishments, and their journey has been one of tremendous dedication, hard work, and talent.

In 2023, we proudly celebrated Nitya’s Bharatanatyam Arangetram at the India Cultural Center, an extraordinary milestone marking her years of rigorous training and commitment to classical dance. Her performance was a captivating testament to her passion and dedication to her craft. In addition to Nitya's spectacular accomplishments in classical dance, she has carried on her family's commitment to excellence in the martial arts by becoming a world champion in Karate, representing TEAM USA in her age and division in Italy in 2013, Orlando in 2015, and Dublin, Ireland in 2016 and 2018. You can read more about Nitya here!

Parth, now a student at the University of South Florida pursuing his second Bachelor’s degree, has also achieved impressive accolades across multiple disciplines. With a black belt in Taekwondo, Parth is a Shitoryu sensei and a multi-time Karate/Kickboxing World Champion. He also holds numerous US Open Karate titles, and is consistently demonstrating his relentless pursuit of excellence in academics, martial arts, and dance. You can read more about Parth here!

We are now thrilled to share Nitya and Parth’s most recent and extraordinary accomplishment, performing at the 2024 All Indian Dance Festival at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City!

This prestigious event drew in performers from around the globe and showcased the richness of Indian classical dance. Carnegie Hall, one of the most prestigious venues in the world, became a stage for more than just a performance for the Madabhushi family, it became a testament to the cultural heritage and artistic talent passed down through generations. Joining Nitya and Parth on stage were their mother, Sabrina, and their grandmother, Geetaraaj Karkera, creating a unique multi-generational performance.

At CDS, we reflect on the dedication, artistry, and achievements of Nitya and Parth with immense pride. They embody the school’s values of global citizenship, while also honoring the importance of family, culture, and tradition in the arts. Their presence at Carnegie Hall marks a milestone not only for the Madabhushi family but for Carrollwood Day School, as their talents and accomplishments have reached one of the most revered stages in the world. We know great things await Nitya and Parth, and we can’t wait to see what they will accomplish next.
