Athletics Week in Review

Week of September 20-25, 2021

CROSS COUNTRY

  • Varsity

    • Tuesday –The Varsity Cross Country team ran a 2 mile course at the Indian Rocks Christian invitational. Ava W took 2nd place and Alexa G placed in top 5. Congratulations to the team.

  • Middle School

    • Varsity is in 5th place at this time. We had 1 runner place in the top 10. In meet #2, all the Varsity runners had a personal record!

    • JV is in 2nd place and we have 3 runners in the top 10. Congratulations to all runners!

GOLF

  • Boys

    • Saturday – The boys participated in the Cove Cay Invitational. It was a great day and a great effort.

  • Girls

    • Tuesday – CDS was winning after 7 holes when the match was called due to weather against Academy of the Holy Names

    • Thursday  - This match v Steinbrenner was cancelled due to weather.

    • Saturday – Elyse M and Olivia H took 1st and 2nd respectively at the Cove Cay Invitational. Congratulations team! We look forward to great things this season!!

FOOTBALL

  • Varsity 

    • Friday - Varsity won against Cardinal Mooney High School.

SWIM

  • Wednesday - CDS Swim Team beat both Bishop McLaughlin High School and Tampa Catholic High School in a tri-meet

  • FSPA Invitational - The Florida Swimming Pool Association Invitational Swimming & Diving Meet is the largest meet of its kind in the southeastern United States.

    Winning their events were Adele S (100 Free - new team record) Ethan E (50 Free), Kyra O (50 Free).

    2nd place finishes for Ethan E (100 Free), Riley H (100 Back) and 3rd place medals for Lucas B (100 Back) and Hailee S (100 Breast).  Winning the medley relays: Riley H, Kyra O, Bhuvi R and Adele S. 

    Earning a 1st place medal and a New Team Record: Gabe S, Lucas B, Marco W and Logan W.  Also setting a new CDS Team Record and bringing home the gold: Wyatt B, Hayden B, Marco W and Jacob B!

VOLLEYBALL

  • Varsity/JV

    • Monday – JV and Varsity both won against Patel High School

    • Tuesday – JV lost and Varsity won against Tampa Bay Heat.

    • Friday/Saturday – Varsity participated in the Academy of the Holy Names tournament. They had some great wins against Newsome High School and Wharton High School!

  • Middle School

    • Monday – All three teams won against Tampa Preparatory School.

    • Tuesday – Patriot team won against Tampa Bay Heat.

    • Thursday – All three teams won against Corbett Preparatory School of IDS.
