Dawn Wilson defines herself as a servant leader focused on building strong relationships to support faculty, students, and parents. She has proven herself to be a respected school leader, fostering positive school cultures that encourage collaboration and growth for all constituents. Throughout her career as an administrator, schools under her leadership have received recognition for student performance. In addition to regularly meeting yearly progress expectations for charter schools, during her tenure, Snowy Range Academy earned school accountability ratings of "Exceeding Expectations" for four years (2014-2017) and Academie Da Vinci Charter School in Dunedin, FL received "Outstanding Charter School" Award in 2005 from Florida Department of Education.

Dawn Wilson came to CDS from St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Jackson, MS, where she served as Head of Lower School for three years. She began her career in education as an elementary teacher. In 2003 she became an assistant principal at Pinellas Preparatory Academy in Largo, FL and for the next 14 years, she was a director and principal at high performing charter schools in Pinellas County and Laramie, WY.

Mrs. Wilson earned a bachelor's degree in communications with highest honors and a master's in urban education from Clark University. She has also completed all coursework for a self-designed Ph.D. program for school administration from the University of South Florida.
